Our home may be in virtual events but Happenee does recognise the importance of building personal relationships face to face. After a year of restrictions, we took the opportunity to conduct an unconventional teambuilding exercise. In early June, we to the water to sail to the dam in Orlík.

Why the Two Day Trip?
Being we were primarily on home office and experiencing growth, most of the team had never met in person. Our team-building exercise was directed at breaking the ice and creating bonds that extend beyond projects.
Since one of Cofounders (Zdenda) and Sales Managers (Lukas) have a captain's license with experience sailing abroad, we choose to take sailboats around the Orlík Reservoir for a two-day excursion far away from our offices.
Setting Sail
At sunrise, we left Prague with our cars fully loaded. Our trusted captains secured a crew of 15 and 3 ships. After loading our vessels we left the Orlik dock with our first port of call being the ruins of Orlík Castle.

From Home Office to Floating Office
During the trip, we had a live event at Happenee which we managed from the sailboat. The logistics and planning enabled our project managers to deliver the event perfectly while enjoying the serenity of the trip.

Next Port of Call, Zvíkov
Along our trip, we docked and camped in Zvíkov. Huddled around a fire, we spent the evening getting to know each other. We began the following morning admiring the local scenery but underestimated the sunshine with most of us getting a bit of sunburn.
We noticed a strong storm brewing behind us as we returned to the dock and used the strong winds to carry us back to port about 40 kilometers away.

Back to Dry Land
The results of the event were exactly what we dreamt of. We arrived as individuals but returned as a team. This shared experience fostered easier communication and trust. The success of this trip we plan to repeat now that summer is in full swing!
